CORNERSTONE
"In the work Cornerstone (2023), Nadina Stoica, through a gesture that borders on the shamanic, transfers her memories and experiences into the mineral. The piece — a sequence of eight stones with printed photographs — invites the viewer to leap from the physical space of the museum into imaginary realms, engaging in a game of searching, associating, and rediscovering."
— Daniel Constantinescu (curator of the “Eclectic” exhibition at the Craiova Art Museum, Constantin Brâncuși Center)
Nadina Stoica
Nadina Stoica (b. 1997, Romania) is an artist from Constanța, currently based in Bucharest. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in the Department of Photography and Dynamic Image at the National University of Arts in Bucharest.
In her artistic practice, the photographic image gradually transforms, becoming in turn a word, a mood, an object. Her projects trace fragile boundaries between intimacy, landscape, and personal narrative, exploring the relationship between body and space, identity, and the imprint of time on memory. Through an approach that oscillates between observation and visual poetry, her works navigate a sensitive realm where photography becomes a tool for introspection and remembrance.
