Hope is a state of mind that feeds on the expectation of a positive future,” says artist Florin Zhu, who explores the paradoxes of existence and the symbols of hope in this exhibition. In his recent works, he uses the image of outstretched hands to express “the drama and anxiety of the human condition” and the processes of introspection and acceptance. The hands, branched like trees, symbolize personal growth, the desire to understand and protect, but also to be in control in the face of uncertainty.

Symbols such as the apple and the glass ball appear frequently, as expressions of clarity, simplicity, and the hope of finding harmony. “I will continue to hope with the emotion of an adult who wants to preserve a part of his childhood innocence,” confesses Florin.
