Quiver of Light
Alexandru Ranga’s sculptural practice is grounded in metal, which becomes both substance and poetic structure. Working with bronze, brass, steel, and other alloys, he explores the expressive potential of matter shaped by pressure, transformation, and tension. In his works, metal exceeds its industrial condition and acquires an organic presence—at times vulnerable, at times severe, yet always charged with latent energy. His forms seem shaped by opposing forces: weight and ascent, compression and vibration, rigor and instability. Within this visual vocabulary, the suggestion of lightning also emerges—not as a descriptive motif, but as a sign of concentrated intensity, a discharge that passes through matter and animates it from within.
