
Christelle Havranek
Christelle Havranek is a French art historian and curator based in Prague. She is the Chief Curator at Kunsthalle Praha, where she is in charge of the institution’s curatorial direction and led major exhibitions, including Kinetismus: 100 Years of Electricity in Art, Gregor Hildebrandt: A Blink of an Eye and the Years Are Behind Us, Bohemia: History of an idea, Elmgreen and Dragset: READ, Lucia Moholy: Exposures and Chiharu Shiota: The Unsettled Soul. Before joining Kunsthalle Praha, she was the curator and head of programs at the French Institute in Prague (1999–2016), fostering artistic exchanges between France and Central Europe. Havranek holds a postgraduate diploma (DEA) in art history, criticism, and conservation from the University of Rennes 2. She also teaches curatorial studies at Anglo-American University in Prague. Her work often explores the intersections of contemporary art, memory, and cultural identity, with a focus on both historical narratives and emerging artistic practices. As a writer and editor, she contributed curatorial texts and essays to several publications.
