
Dzekashu MacViban
Dzekashu MacViban is a writer, curator and publisher. He is the founder of Bakwa Books, a Cameroon-based publishing house that empowers creatives and storytellers through print and podcast projects. He was previously Editorial Manager at This is Africa, and editor at The Schloss Post, and Solitude Journal. He is the editor of Of Passion and Ink: New Voices from Cameroon (2020), and co-editor of Limbe to Lagos: Nonfiction from Cameroon and Nigeria (2020). He is the author of Scions of the Malcontent (2011), and his writing has been translated into Japanese, German, French, and Spanish. Dzekashu recently curated “On Contiguous Narratives and Poetic Cosmologies” (Académie des Beaux Arts, Kinshasa, 2025) and co-curated “Surreal Continuum: Revisiting, Remapping, Reimagining Surrealism” (Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, 2025). He is a recipient of an Akademie Schloss Solitude Fellowship.
