Margaux Gillet
Curator and art historian specializing in contemporary creation, Margaux Gillet's curatorial practice is particularly focused on new ways of conceptualizing the interaction between artwork and its audience, outside the traditional context of exhibitions. She has notably worked on the question of performance within museums and institutions as a means of creating a unique artistic experience and engaging the audience in shaping this experience over time. She co-founded Correspondances astrales in 2020, a mail-art horoscope created by contemporary artists, and has curated several exhibitions such as Chêne Pointu (Clichy-sous-Bois, 2023) and Visual Information Part III, a solo show by Mélissa Cascade at the Cité internationale des arts (Paris, 2024). She also worked as a curatorial assistant to Emma Lavigne at the Palais de Tokyo and at the Bourse de Commerce - Pinault Collection and has coordinated the Mondes nouveaux program (French Ministry of Culture, 2020). She has also collaborated with international institutions such as Performa (New York), Centre Pompidou (Paris), Art Basel (Paris), Institut Français du Royaume-Uni (London), Bally Foundation (Lugano), and BanQ (Montréal). Margaux Gillet holds a Master's degree in Art History, specializing in curatorial studies from the University Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Master's degree in Museology from the École du Louvre.
