Mihnea Mircan

Curator — Plan B

Mihnea Mircan is the curator of Plan B Foundation, opened in Cluj in 2025. His most recent projects are the exhibitions Landscape in a Convex Mirror, for the 2021 edition of the Art Encounters Biennial in Timisoara, and A Biography of Daphne, presented at ACCA Melbourne, a project whose reader is forthcoming from Spector Press. Mircan has curated exhibitions at institutions including Extra City Kunsthal, Antwerp, where he served as artistic director between 2011-15; Museion, Bolzano; Stroom, Den Haag; David Roberts Art Foundation, London; Fondation Pernod Ricard, Paris; Project Art Center, Dublin; and the Venice Biennial, as curator of the Romanian Pavilion in 2007. He was the editor of the books Miklos Onucsan; Hans van Houwelingen: Undone; Cross-examinations and Allegory of the Cave Painting, and has contributed essays to numerous exhibition catalogues, monographs of artists such as Pavel Büchler, Laure Prouvost, Jean-Luc Moulène and Tom Nicholson, and magazines such as Manifesta Journal, Stedelijk Studies, Parkett, Mousse and Afterall
