Paula Thomaka

Curator — Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst

Paula Thomaka is a curator and writer. She is an assistant curator at the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich. Together with Michael Birchall, she curated Haegue Yang: Leap Year and has worked on projects including Disobedience Archive in Dialog with Raqs Media Collective. She is co-director and editor of PW-Magazine, an online medium dedicated to Live Arts. Previously, she was program curator for dance, theater, and performance at Gessnerallee Zurich, where she founded the performance festival Tune In Drop Out. She has worked at Stadtgalerie Bern as a curatorial assistant and as a research assistant on Nina Wakeford’s project Concrete Comeback. She also co-curated the performance platform Perrrformat in Zurich and has realized (inter)national collaborations. In 2026, she will be a fellow of Residence NRW+ (a program of Kunsthalle Münster) and will co-curate upcoming projects at Kunsthalle Wien and Museum für Gegenwartskunst Siegen.
