Suzana Vasilescu
Suzana Vasilescu is an art historian, curator, gallerist, and art advisor. She is the founder and director of SUPRAINFINIT, a contemporary art gallery in Bucharest, and serves as curator and advisor to major private art collections in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. She is also a board member of the Museum of Recent Art (MARe), the first privately established art museum opened in Romania in the past century, dedicated to collecting and exhibiting Romanian art from 1965 to the present.
Since october 2025 she's also the Artistic Director of NOCA – New Oradea Contemporary Art, alongside Cristina Vasilescu, contributing to the development of a dynamic platform for contemporary art in the region.
Before founding her gallery (2015) and the Ans Azura platform (2021), she played a key role in the development and consolidation of Romania’s art ecosystem, holding leadership and curatorial positions within auction houses, galleries, and biennials. During her time at Artmark Auction House (2009–2012), the country’s leading auction house at the time, she led the Postmodern and Contemporary Art Department and organized Romania’s first postmodern and contemporary art auction. In 2015, she served as director of the inaugural edition of the Art Encounters Biennial in Timișoara, a landmark moment for the Romanian art scene. Previously (2012–2015), she was the director of Nicodim Gallery.
She holds a degree in Art History and an Executive MBA from ASEBUSS School of Business, one of Romania’s leading business schools.
