
Sylvia Monasterios
Sylvia Monasterios is a Venezuelan curator, cultural manager, and translator based in São Paulo, Brazil. She studied Sociology and holds a master’s degree in Art, Education, and Cultural History. Recently, she worked as a Curatorial Assistant at the 35th Bienal de São Paulo, Choreographies of the Impossible. She has also served as a curator in the Visual Arts Department at the Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP), at Pivô Arte e Pesquisa, and as a programmer at the São Paulo Municipal Department of Culture. With a personal and professional engagement with diasporas and their effects on moving bodies, Sylvia consistently explores the intersection of art, culture, and migration. She has worked on several exhibitions that create platforms for dialogue and reflection on worlding and decolonial practices within contemporary art. Her work is committed to challenging conventional narratives and providing spaces where underrepresented perspectives can be included.
