Deep Freedom
Swinging is a paradox, an act of both freedom and interdependence. The installation Deep Freedom invites participants to experience movement as a collective act, where balance is not an individual pursuit but a shared rhythm. Each swing in this installation responds to the forces exerted by others, making every motion an entangled negotiation of weight, speed, and intention.
In quantum physics, the concept of entanglement describes how two particles, once connected, remain interlinked regardless of distance. Deep Freedom extends this idea into the realm of human emotions and physical interaction. The unseen, the underside of each swing, is painted in colors representing emotions gathered from Neuroplasticity Hybrid Lab, a previous project exploring the adaptability of the human mind and its capacity for emotional resonance. As participants swing, their movements affect others, just as unseen emotional imprints shape the collective atmosphere.
This work challenges the notion of solitary freedom, suggesting instead that true liberation comes from interconnection. To swing is to engage with an invisible web of forces, physical, emotional, and quantum, where every action is both an assertion of self and a response to the presence of others. Deep Freedom is not just about movement; it is about trust, unseen influences, and the profound interconnectedness that defines our experience of the world.
The last two years Alina Cioară has been working on the extension of The Neuroplasticity Hybrid Lab, expanding its research into the relationship between color, emotion, and neurophysiology, positioning artistic contemplation as a transformative neurobiological process. Entangled Emotions explores how art engages neural plasticity, embodied perception, and affective states, shaping self-awareness, emotional regulation, and collective experience. The collected emotions are translated into color-coded hexagonal structures, forming interconnected consciousness fields.
Alina Cioară
Alina Cioară studied art, psycho-sociology, and communication in Timișoara. Her paradigm is rooted in 16 years of research in neuroplasticity and art, positioned at the intersection of the visual-conceptual realm and neuroscience. This approach involves interpreting both spoken and visual language to decode and (re)shape reality. Alina Cioară describes herself as a visual artist and a strategist of artistic power. She prefers the term "plastic artist" over "visual artist" due to the guiding thread of her practice—neuroplasticity—as well as her body of work, which engages multiple senses (visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory) to make art accessible to a broad and diverse audience through functionality. Driven by her passion for neuropsychology and its applications in art, Alina practices neuroplastic art.
