Liviu Mihai was born on April 9, 1980, in Slatina, Romania. He discovered his passion for painting at the age of 11, inspired by a landscape painting brought home by his father. Encouraged by painter Nicolae Truță, he pursued formal art studies despite his parents’ initial wish for him to follow a military career.

In 1995, he enrolled at the Art School in Craiova, later continuing his studies at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, where he specialized in Graphic Arts. Influenced by artists such as Georges Braque and Nicolae Grigorescu, his early work earned awards at county and national competitions. After graduating, Liviu Mihai developed his practice across traditional painting and drawing as well as digital art, building a career shaped by both classical techniques and contemporary exploration.
