Saudade

Inspired by Henry Moore's work, the artist tried to assimilate his way of constructing a feminine composition, an assimilation that was nuanced by the medium in which he has been working more recently: steel. H.M.'s organic contours and volumes are transposed into a much harsher, colder, geometric material context. At the same time, the expressivity of the composition, of the feminine form, is preserved, importing it into a contemporary context, a local context: traditions, associations, and the contribution of steel and its role.
