The Stretching Room - Elements
The Stretching Room – Elements is a space for active relaxation, designed with the RAD visitor in mind. Delighted by the experience, enriched by everything they see in the exhibition booths and beyond, activated by inspiring conversations, the visitor is nonetheless tired after hours of walking and standing. Their mind is eager to discover more and more, but the body persistently urges them to lie down on the grass and enjoy the sun.
TSR offers a chance to reconnect not only with the body, but also with the mind, both requiring constant practice to maintain flexibility and elasticity. The Elements create a social choreography in which empathy, tolerance, and a certain lightness in perceiving others are just as important in these exercises as muscles and ligaments. The performative nature of the elements invites visitors to find their own way of using them. They can relax, play, or use them for a short stretching session—of both the body and critical thinking. They can laugh at themselves and at each other, exploring new postures and positions. At the same time, anyone can engage with TSR as simply a space of possibilities and desires.
The project is realized with the support of the Fildas Art Foundation through the Catena for Art program.
