Deloitte and RAD Art Fair to Launch First Romanian Art Market Report
At its third edition, RAD Art Fair, in collaboration with Deloitte Romania, launches the first-ever Romanian Art Market Report—a landmark publication that marks a new stage in the development of the country's contemporary art scene.
Emerging from over two decades of steady growth—since the first contemporary galleries opened in Bucharest in 2002—the report reflects the maturation of a market that has expanded both nationally and internationally. This trajectory led to the founding of RAD in 2023 by Catinca Tabacaru and Daniela Palimariu, together with ten of Romania’s leading galleries: Cazul101, Jecza Gallery, Mobius, Galleria Plan B, Galeria Posibila, /SAC, Sandwich, Sector 1, Suprainfinit, and Catinca Tabacaru Gallery. Since then, the fair has seen rapid growth, with gallery sales doubling between its first and second editions.
The report responds to a long-standing need for greater insight and structure within the Romanian art ecosystem. By mapping collector engagement and capturing current market dynamics, it lays the groundwork for future development and deeper dialogue between artists, galleries, and collectors.
More than a research document, the Romanian Art Market Report 2025 signals a turning point. It affirms RAD’s role not only as an art fair, but also as a platform for shaping a confident, connected, and forward-looking art scene in Romania.
